Beading Classes!

The following beading classes are taught by Cheryl Erickson,  a professional bead artist and bead instructor whose work has won awards and has been featured in books and magazines.  Cheryl has taught for over 20 years at shows – including the Bead & Button Show, stores, and bead societies across the country.

You can signup for all classes by calling the gallery at 515.255.0218 or stopping in!  Please signup early so the instructor has time to prepare kits for the class.

Friday, April 5th, 6-8pm:  Basic Brick Stitch Stripe Bracelet.  

Have fun making this heavily textured striped bracelet. Use different size seed beads to give the interesting textured look.  Learn or revisit Brick Stitch with this simple pattern that has a very contemporary look. This project is appropriate for beginners but fun for everyone.  

Class Fee:  $40 + Kit $20. All materials, beads, and findings provided for you to complete a bracelet project.  Bring glasses if you need them.


 

Saturday, April 6th, 10 - Noon:  Flame Stitch 2-Drop Peyote Bracelet.

This is a simple peyote bracelet with a great look.  We will follow a pattern and learn all the techniques involved with peyote patterns.  It is a fun project because we add two beads at a time.  This project is appropriate for beginners, but anyone can join us!     Class Fee:  $40 + Kit $20. All materials, beads, and findings provided for you to complete a bracelet project.  Bring glasses if you need them.


 Thursday, April 11th, 6-8pm:  Flower Spiral Bracelet.

Spring is here!  Make this festive themed bracelet using flower and leaf beads.  Every bracelet is different with the beads and colors you use.  Learn to use a button for the closure. This is an easy bracelet appropriate for beginners and fun for everyone.

 Tuesday, April 16th, 6-9pm:  Right Angle Weave Flower Rope

This is a Right Angle Weave rope bracelet made in the round, or a circular pattern.  A SuperDuo 2-Hole bead is used to add an interesting embellishment that looks like rows of flowers.  This is an intermediate project.  You should be very comfortable with bead weaving and have tried some Right Angle Weave projects before.

Class Fee:  $50 + Kit $25. All materials, beads, and findings provided for you to complete a bracelet project.  Bring glasses if you need them

 

 

 


Friday, April 26th, 6-9pm:  Art Deco Brick Stitch Bracelet

Make this project using Brick Stitch and Delica beads.  It has increases and decreases and even intricate holes.  The pattern is an art deco design inspired by a beautiful glass door. This project is and intermediate pattern.  You should be very comfortable with beadweaving and have tried brick stitch before.

 Saturday, April 27th:  Right Angle Weave Flower Chain Bracelet

This is a fun project that uses the popular 2-Hole beads, the SuperDuo and Lentil and tiny pearls. The colors used can give it very different looks. It is a nice fine flower chain.  This is an advanced beginner project.  You should have tried bead weaving before and are getting comfortable with it but not necessarily an expert at anything yet.
